CORN RUNS 1.1% AHEAD OF STOCKS, CRUDE UP ON GULF FLOWS
THE ACTION
Unpriced corn in the bin: a close above $5.09 says the Stocks positioning was real, price another 10% there.
Corn's up 5 cents to $5.04, Chicago wheat added 8 cents to $6.80, and crude ran 3.3% to $92.08, all three moving before Quarterly Stocks even prints at 11 CT. That's not reaction, that's positioning, and positioning ahead of a Stocks report is a bet, not a read.

↺ YESTERDAY'S CALL DIDN'T
Called corn up toward $5.29 ($5.2475 when the call was made). It closed at $5.0375.
Corn closed at $5.0375, short of the $5.29 target, so the directional call missed on level despite catching the move up.
Grains Run Ahead Of StocksMEDIUM CONVICTION
- Corn added a penny over a nickel to $5.04 and wheat gained 8 cents to $6.80, both moving hours before Quarterly Stocks prints at 11 CT today.
- Feedstuffs flagged corn "stumbled significantly lower" in midweek trade, so today's bounce is a reversal of that, not a continuation.
Today's grain strength is a bet on Stocks, not a verdict on it.
Crude Runs On Gulf Flow ReportsMEDIUM CONVICTION
- WTI gained 3.3% to $92.08, reversing Wednesday's pullback to $96 on Brent after JPMorgan, Goldman and Kpler all flagged Gulf oil flows bouncing back.
- Oilprice.com is also flagging Iran's own oil disappearing from the market even as China's demand recovers, a supply squeeze working against the bounce.
The Iran-Hormuz premium is building again after deflating all August, call it round three.
TODAY'S WATCH LIST
- 11:00 AM CTQuarterly Stocks prints; corn stocks below trade guess tightens old-crop fast.
- TodayDiesel export ban talk; Trump admits a ban could raise gasoline, watch input costs.
- This weekCrude above $92.08 on confirmed Gulf flow data keeps the Iran premium building, not fading.
OUTSIDE THE PITNot moving prices today, but worth knowing.
