🛡️ DMC MARGINS

Dairy Margin Coverage (DMC)

Milk Price − Feed Cost = Margin

USDA program pays when margin falls below coverage level ($4.00-$9.50/cwt). Feed cost = (corn price × 1.0728) + (soybean meal × 0.00735) + (alfalfa hay × 0.0137).

🌽 FEED COSTS

Feed = 50-60% of milk production cost. Track corn (energy), soybean meal (protein), and hay prices to monitor margins.

💵 CASH MARKETS

CME Spot Call: Daily cash trading at 12:00pm CT for cheese (blocks & barrels), butter, NFDM, and whey. These prices drive futures settlement.
