Non-irrigated cash rent in Bulloch County is $79 per acre in 2026, up 17 percent from 2016. Irrigated land rents at $194 per acre, a multiple of 2.46 over non-irrigated in 2026, versus 2.06 in 2009; the direction of that multiple shows no clear direction. Only 16 percent of harvested cropland carries irrigation, per the 2022 census, with 39 percent of that water drawn from groundwater in 2015. Heat and drought have driven crop insurance losses for decades, but the share of indemnities they cause has moved from 71 percent in 1989-1999, to 62 percent in 2000-2009, to 50 percent in 2010-2019, to 9 percent in 2020-2025. Census land value sits at $3,810 per acre in 2022, up 33 percent from 2017.
